This addition should cause big issues for the Sooner defense whose strength revolves around their pass defense. Ewers means a lot to this Texas team, as we saw the Texas vs Oklahoma odds move from 4 points to 9 points when Ewers was announced as the expected starter.

TCU was able to put up 668 yards on this Oklahoma defense. Texas will look to tear apart this defense via the run game. The Oklahoma defense gives up 198 yards per game on the ground, with an average of almost 4.6 yards per carry.

Even though they do put up yards and points on offense, I do have a couple of concerns around their ability to convert on third downs and time of possession.

When you dig deeper into the Oklahoma scoring offense, they score quite quickly. In terms of points per play, Oklahoma ranks #19 in the nation.

Normally this would not be a big deal and positive in most situations, but for a defense that already struggles, more time on the field will create additional problems with fatigue and yards allowed.

Both offenses should definitely hold the edge this weekend, and I believe it will be another high scoring affair like we have seen in recent Red River Rivalry show downs.
