How To Bet The Super Bowl National Anthem Prop

Each year, millions of people flock to their sportsbooks to go bet on the length of the National Anthem. Betting on the National Anthem is one of the most popular wagers placed every year by bettors. The Super Bowl is right around the corner, and that means it’s time to dive into one of my personal favorite prop bets for the Big Game.

This year, Grammy-nominated country singer Mickey Guyton will take the stage to kick the festivities off. Guyton’s most recent anthem performance came back in May 2021 at the Memorial Day Concert.

Call Her “Quickie Mickey” Guyton

Recent articles covering the Super Bowl National Anthem performance have coined Mickey Guyton as “Quickie Mikey”. If you watch the video above (I recommend you do if you plan to bet this), Guyton absolutely flies through her performance, completing it in under a minute and a half. It’s almost shocking to me because it appears she may run out of breath. Guyton’s performance back in 2021 has to be one of the shortest anthems I’ve ever seen.

After the 2021 Super Bowl anthem performance by Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan took 2 minutes and 17 seconds, it’s hilarious that the line is 1 minute and 35 seconds for Guyton this year. Here is a video from our recent Super Bowl Prop Bet Show on YouTube breaking down the history of Quickie Mickey Guyton:

Super Bowl National Anthem Performances By The Numbers

This data shows that the National Anthem in previous years has taken much longer than what is projected for this year. In the last 15 Super Bowls, 13 went over 1 minute and 35 seconds. This really shows how quickly Mikey Guyton sings the Nation’s Song. Oddsmakers have done their own research on Guyton and expect her to rip through it. Will we see her go over 2 minutes? I doubt it, but that doesn’t mean she won’t go over on the 1 minute and 35-second set line.

This is a new prop available for some of the markets that recently went live. These include New York sports betting, Louisiana, and a few other states.

National Anthem Best Bet

Every news outlet that has reported on Guyton’s projected time for the anthem tells us that this will be one of the quicker ones we’ve seen in recent history. I beg to differ. I have watched two different anthem renditions by Guyton at least 10 times each. This is her time to shine and show the world what she can do with a microphone. All eyes will be on her, which I believe will result in her holding a few notes longer and taking a couple extra deep breaths throughout the song. When others zig, we zag.
