San Francisco has been one of the most profitable teams in the NFL against the spread this season, posting a 13-6 ATS record. But they still find themselves as underdogs on the road. They’ve only been a road underdog once this season, winning that game outright.

The 49ers entered the 2022 NFL Playoffs with one of the most unique story lines in the league. Began the year with Trey Lance set as the starter, but 4 short months later the 49ers enter the NFC Championship game with Brock “Mr. Irrelevant” Purdy leading the offense.

Brock Purdy has led the 49ers to an 8-0 record since being thrown into the mix, leading the team to where they are today. This has a lot to say about Purdy and his resilience, but even more to say about their head coach, Kyle Shanahan.

Shanahan has gone through the ringer with the quarterback injuries but has proved that he can create a winning game plan with anyone under center. (Not a dig at Purdy’s abilities)

Even though the 49ers have been plagued with injuries at the quarterback position, let’s not forget that their offense is loaded with explosive playmakers.

Philadelphia Eagles Betting Outlook

The Eagles enter the NFC Championship game with quite the impressive season. Led by Jalen Hurts and an explosive offense at his disposal, the Eagles racked up a 14-3 record with an average margin of victory of 9.1 points.

The Eagles offense has improved significantly since last season, averaging 28 points per game and 5.88 yards per play.

Just as I mentioned with the 49ers, the Eagles also own one of the best defenses in the league. After a few mid-season trades, they have loaded up their front 7 and are playing some of their best defense of the season at the right time.

With all of that said, I believe this will be the Eagles greatest test. The toughest offense that they had to face was the Cowboys, who were not consistent. I expect the much better coached 49ers team to have a game plan ready and put-up points on this Eagles team who have shown that they will give up points to teams with good offenses.

I spent a whole lot of time digging into both of these teams and how great their defenses have been this season. Take all that I said and throw it out the window.

These teams have put up great numbers on both sides of the ball but there is one HUGE factor that is driving me towards a lot of points in this matchup.

STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE. Both of these teams faced some of the easiest competition that you could hope for as an NFL team, leading the rankings & stats to be skewed in terms of non-adjusted statistics.
