The week 13 NFL slate is solid all around. In an under the radar matchup, the Commanders and Giants are set to clash at 1:00 P.M Sunday from East Rutherford, New Jersey. This game features two teams with winning records and although they have both done it quietly, both teams are in fact in the midst of a playoff race. With a 2-point spread and a total of 40.5 in the Commanders vs Giants odds, expect this divisional matchup to be a both very competitive and low scoring.

Washington Commanders Betting Outlook
The Washington Commanders have won three straight football games. At this point in time it is safe to assume Carson Wentz may not be very good and since turning to Taylor Heinicke, the Commanders are a competitive team. Winners of three straight and six of seven, the Commanders hold an impressive 6-0-1 record against the spread over that time. Although Heinicke has not been putting up insane numbers, he is doing just enough to keep the Commanders not only in games, but in a position to win games late.

The Commanders defense is the unit that has really stepped up. They seem to be improving weekly and they could be getting a massive boost this weekend. Chase Young is listed as questionable to play and if he can go, this defense gets that much better. Giving up just over 15 points per game in the last seven and forcing plenty of turnovers, the team has been very opportunistic which leads us to an important question. Are the Commanders for real or have they been overperforming and due for some regression on the road in this spot.
New York Giants Betting Outlook
Earlier this year when handicapping a Giants game I wrote about the future of the team and how they will almost assuredly hit a point in the season where they crash back into reality. Well, we have arrived. The Giants are losers of three of their last four games and although they do still sit firmly in the NFC playoff race, this is a team that is nowhere near as good as their record states. Saquon Barkley has also seen some regression since his blazing hot start. Barkley regressing was bound to happen as defenses have adjusted to solely focusing on him. With Barkley being the primary focus for opposing defenses, Daniel Jones has been forced to beat teams though the air and although he does show glimpses, he is just not getting the job done.
The calendar has turned to December and all four NFC East teams are in a playoff spot. Sure, the NFC is weak this season but that is still very impressive. If nothing else, this division has provided fans with the potential of more entertaining matchups down the stretch and for that, we will not complain. If the Giants want to stay in that spot they will need to get back to their early season form and to do so, Barkley has to step up. I do envision the Giants going back to the ground but against a top ten unit defending the run in Washington, nothing will be easy.
Commanders vs. Giants Pick and Prediction
Washington moneyline here. I like the Commanders to continue to roll and while the Giants are focused on attempting to sign Odell Beckham Jr, the Commanders will come in and get the win. I am expecting the game to be competitive and because the moneyline is only -125, I am fine with drinking that juice to stay away from the potential of a one or two point game. Betting football sometimes comes down to a decision between riding a hot team or taking a team thats due. This particular matchup has that exact decision and in this spot, I trust Washington a lot more.

I am pairing this pick with Curtis Samuel over 7.5 rushing yards. Samuel has surpassed 7.5 rushing yards in six straight games and because it appears Washington is determined to continue to get him rushing opportunities, I’ll gladly take my chances here.
Best Bets: Commanders ML (-125), Curtis Samuel Over 7.5 Rushing (-110)
