2 Wide Receivers You Need – Super Wild Card Weekend
The first week of the NFL playoffs has arrived. Matchups are locked in, and we are ready for 3 straight days of football. If you haven’t already, make sure to check out OwnersBox for all your Super Wild Card Weekend action!
Without further ado, let’s get to the matter at hand. This article will pinpoint 2 wide receivers you want to start this week in OwnersBox/DFS Wild Card Weekend contests. Remember, when playing on OwnersBox, all formats are PPR (point per reception) so draft your lineup accordingly.
Pick #1: Diontae Johnson @ Chiefs (OwnersBox Salary: $5,800):
Diontae Johnson has been the clear number one target for the Steelers throughout the season. When the Steelers played the Chiefs earlier in the season, Johnson found his way into the end zone. Johnson has seen a total of 7 red-zone targets in the last 3 games. This has resulted in 2 touchdowns and an average of 14.5 PPR fantasy points in that span. Listen, I know everyone is projecting the Chiefs to beat the breaks off of the Steelers in this matchup, but I know for sure Johnson will be ready to plan. This week he was quoted saying, “once we win, don’t try and hop back on the bandwagon.” It’s fair to assume that Johnson will be ready to do his part to help the Steelers try and steal a win in Kansas City.
For the Steelers to win this game, they’re going to have to try and keep up with the high-powered Chiefs offense. Another thing to back up starting Johnson in your OwnersBox lineups this week is that Big Ben could attempt over 40+ passes this week. This should result in Johnson seeing a lot of activity throughout this matchup.
Pick #2: Brandon Aiyuk @ Cowboys (OwnersBox Salary: $5,800):
After starting the season in a horrible fashion, Brandon Aiyuk has had an incredible second half of the season. In the last 8 games of the year, Aiyuk has had 10+ PPR fantasy points in 6 of those games. As someone frequently talking about his horrible start, I have been starting Aiyuk week after week in OwnersBox/DFS contests since he’s found his way. The Cowboys defense ranks 21st in the league, allowing 255.6 pass yards per game. In his last matchup against Dallas, Aiyuk had 73 yards and a touchdown. Looking at his performance in the previous 3 games, Aiyuk has 14 receptions (18 targets) for 241 yards (81 yards per game) and one touchdown.
Outside of Diontae Johnson, I genuinely believe Aiyuk is the top receiver in the $5,000-$6,000 range on OwnersBox this weekend. While Aiyuk certainly lacks the red zone targets, he has set season-highs in yardage in two straight games (week 17 & week 18). This should give you enough confidence that for the $5,800 price tag, he can show up and help you make some money this weekend.
