Must Add Players Week 15 – Fantasy Baseball 2022
Week 15 is here, and I have 4 players you should be adding to your fantasy baseball teams.
Esteury Ruiz OF Padres 34% Rostered
2 G .375 AVG 0 HR 1 RBI 3 H 1 3B
This is a guy with extreme upside if the Padres give him a chance with everyday playing time. Ruiz’s minor league numbers were off the charts. In 72 Games this year he hit .333 with 13 HR 46 RBI 1.028 OPS and had 60 stolen bases. Obviously a player as dynamic as this, if he can perform similar to his minor league numbers in the bigs he has potential league winning talent.
Since he’s been called up, the Padres have started him every day and he’s shown off the tools. He’s absolutely a must add in roto formats for his upside and stolen base potential, and just another super exciting player the Padres get to add to their roster.
Eddie Rosario OF Braves 10% Rostered
.149 AVG 2 HR 3 RBI 7 R 1 SB
He is back to his old ways since returning to the Braves lineup 9 games ago after recovering from an eye injury. Yesterday, Rosario had 3 hits including a homerun, and in those 9 games he’s added another homerun and included a steal.
Rosario is getting consistent at-bats for the Braves and continues to improve on his terrible .149/.200/.257 triple slash line. I think this is a guy you take a chance on, on the wire because of what he has been able to do previously. Last year in 111 combined games, he hit .259 with 14 HR 62 RBI and 11 SB, while only running a .273 BABIP. As long as the consistent at bats continue, I’m taking my chances on Eddie Rosario.
Jose Miranda 3B Twins 10% Rostered
.260 AVG 8 HR 32 RBI 15 R 0 SB
Last 40 Games .331 AVG .366 OBP .576 SLG 7 homers 10 doubles 29 RBIs. Pretty close to his .344/.401/.572 line between Double-A and Triple-A last season, which earned him #MNTwins minor league player of the year.
His wRC+ is 115, he’s only striking out at a 18% rate which is good for a rookie, and is running a pretty low BABIP of .284. This is a solid bat that is available in a majority of leagues and someone you could ride for the rest of the season to perform.
Brett Martin RP Rangers 25% Rostered
0-4 2.79 ERA 3 SV 1.17 WHIP
Let’s talk about some help in the saves department that could be on your waiver wire.
Over the weekend, the Rangers announced they were removing Joe Barlow from the role, because they wanted to take some stress off him. They didn’t make an announcement as to who was going to take over the role but we saw exactly who that was going to be over the weekend.
Brett Martin has had 3 saves since the weekend, doesn’t have a great strikeout rate, but is able to generate whiffs and keeps the ball out of the air, with a 99th percentile chase rate. The Rangers have some other guys who can close, but for now he seems like the guy at the back of the bullpen.
