Max Scherzer ($11,800) vs Mariners
What a start to the year for Mad Max. In 6 games he is averaging over 8ks a game with 7 in his last outing. Even though he had a loss in his doubleheader last week, expect a huge rebound tonight.
His price is high, but well worth the look for value elsewhere if you just want to plug and play. He takes on the Mariners tonight who have a 21.7% strikeout rate so expect Max to raise that rate tonight while taking on a home game.
Kevin Gausman ($10,700) vs Rays
Gausman is goes up against TB tonight who barely walk and have a strikeout rate of 23.8%, sitting in the top 10 highest strikeout team rate.
Kevin is a great downplay if you need to save over $1k for batters, but still has a huge upside with over 7ks averaged in the last 6 games. He also has yet to give up a HR in his outtings and is safe to bring you some needed points out of the P position.
Eduardo Rodriguez ($9,800) vs Orioles
E-Rod is the cheap pick of the day going up against the O’s. I honestly like to target the Baltimore batting to get some easy Ks and low scoring games. Last week, E-Rod went up against the Houston bats and struck out 8, walked 3 and gave up 1 HR.
Take the savings here and move it to your bat stacks at Coors or the Yankees up against Velasquez. Expect Baltimore to swing like crazy at all of E-Rod’s pitches with a high swing % average of 44.63% in their 10 batters.
