  • Kansas sports betting regulations have been altered
  • Soft launch is expected to happen on September 1st, 2022
  • Read below for a full update on the latest KS online sports betting news

Kansas online sports betting was set to launch on September 1st, however, there have been a few issues along the way. The state’s attorney general was not pleased with many of the proposed wagering regulations and believes many of them need fixing. Despite these necessary revisions, fans can still expect a soft launch on Kansas sports betting on September 1st.

Following this, Kansas online sports betting will be fully launched just shortly after the soft launch. Sports betting was officially signed into law back on May 12, 2022. However, before fans can actually start placing their bets, there are a few steps that need to be taken. One of them being set some regulations for fans and sportsbooks operators to follow.

Kansas Sports Betting Regulations

In order for Kansas sports betting apps to launch, a set of sports betting rules and regulations need to be created. Last week the Kansas lottery submitted a set of regulations to be reviewed by the Kansas Attorney General.

After an expedited review, the attorney general found some problems that need to be resolved. Revisions such as these are not so out of the ordinary as one would expect, and revisions are currently being made. Regardless of the necessary revisions to some of the sports betting regulations, Kansas online sports betting still expects its soft launch on September 1st.

Kansas Sports Betting Soft Launch Details

The soft launch date for Kansas online sports betting is still expected to be September 1st with books like BetMGM Kansas and others going live. Despite all the revisions, there hasn’t been any delays in terms of the launch date. Following the soft launch, fans can expect a full Kansas online sports betting launch just a week later, on September 8th. So what is the difference between the soft launch and the full launch?

Well during the soft launch, Kansas casinos and their online operating partners are limited to what they can offer. For example, Kansas’ four casinos, as well as their partnered sportsbooks, will only be allowed to take bets on NFL, MLB, and NCAAF during the soft launch. Despite this limited betting list, there shouldn’t be any other restrictions during the soft launch of Kansas sports betting.

Even though there are a few restrictions during the soft launch, KS sports betting will fully launch on September 8th. This means casinos and sportsbooks will be offering their full list of betting events. Some of the events specifically included after the full launch include registrations, funding your accounts and using any offered promo codes.

With Kansas only passing the sports betting bill into law this past May, this launch date will make this the quickest turnaround from the bill being passed to the official launch.
