This article is all about guaranteed value for players who ARE NOT at the top of the salary cap price range at each position!
QB – Kirk Cousins, $6,500 vs. Browns
I can’t believe that I am doing this; even though I love other QBs around his price, Captain Kirk is who I am selecting. There is no argument that Cousins has been pretty damn good this season, and with the weapons, he has in Jefferson and Thielen. There is little reason for him not to show up BIG. The Vikings offensive line has been unbelievable this season, and if they can stand up against the Browns pass defense – unless Garrett plays like he did last week, Cousins should be throwing for at least 300 yards and 3 touchdowns. I am not a big fan of Cousins, but until he shows otherwise, put him in your lineup because a $6,500 salary with those weapons he has at his disposal is well worth it.
RB – Chuba Hubbard, $5,000 vs. Cowboys
I am not sure if you all remember just how dominant Mike Davis was last season as the Panthers lead back while CMC was hurt, but Hubbard could even be better. Hubbard was drafted to take over CMC’s role one day, possibly. I won’t say Hubbard will become a star, but he has all the potential to be a workhorse back that can become a CMC lite version on the field. In 2019, Hubbard was considered the best running back in the country in college; the man had 2,100 rushing yards, 200 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns… which is insanity. Yes, Hubbard had a down year last season, but he only played seven games. I genuinely believe that Hubbard could be a top 10 back this week against the Cowboys. He is much more talented than Mike Davis and has all the tools to end up as a top running back this week and possibly the next few. I AM ALL IN ON CHUBA HUBBARD!
WR – Chris Godwin, $6,400 vs. Patriots
The week is here; we finally get to see Tom Brady against The Patriots and his old coach, Bill Belichick. After last weeks loss to the Rams and the fact that Tom has circled this game since he left the Pats last year, Tom is on a mission to embarrass his former team and prove once and for all that he is the reason for all of the Patriots Super Bowl’s rather than Bill Belichick. Godwin should be the primary recipient in Brady’s dominance vs. the Pats. The wide out should have at least 100 receiving yards and potentially 2 touchdowns. I have Godwin in all of my season-long leagues this year, and this week I would select him in every OwnersBox SuperFlex lineup. Yes, $6,400 is a steep price to pay but it’s a tremendous matchup, and to me, he is the CLEAR number one receiving option on the Bucs. The Pats can’t cover Evans, AB, Godwin, Gronk simultaneously, so I expect at least two of those options to go off, and I think it’ll be Godwin and Gronk who provide the best bank for your buck that you can select for this week.
RB – Michael Carter, $4,200 vs. Titans
TE – Rob Gronkowski, $5,300 vs. Pats
WR – D.J. Moore, $6,300 vs. Cowboys
QB – QB – Sam Darnold, $6,000 vs. Cowboys
