3 NBA Value Plays
In the NBA Contest of the Week, you need good values. Here are three value plays that will bring you to the top of the pay zone.
Jalen Brunson, PG, Mavericks – $5,800
Jalen Brunson has been very consistent this season. Averaging 32 fantasy points is no joke for a player at his salary cost. Even though there are other players in the price range you could differ from, Brunson has been reliable all season, and his production seems steady while his points are on the rise. Brunson’s minutes continue to rise along with his output. He has become a great asset for the Mavs and someone else that Luka can rely on to score. In his last four outings, Brunson averages over 20 points a game, along with some solid rebound and assist stats. His defense has been good as well, with a steal per game. Brunson provides a solid floor points-wise and is not a bad option if you are looking for consistency.
Garrett Temple, SG, Pelicans – $4,000
For the cost of $4,000, Garrett Temple is well worth his salary cap price. Temple provides a solid fantasy point average. Temple is averaging 20 pts a game; you most likely won’t find anyone else for the price. Temple is good in all aspects of the game, provides decent scoring, rebounds, assists, and defense but nothing outstanding. For a shooting guard, he does receive decent rebound statistics, but other than that, nothing will blow you out of the water. Regardless, if you want stars on your team, you need to spend some money, and you will need to buy someone cheap, and Temple is your guy.
Thad Young, PF, Spurs – $5,000
Thad Young is the closest player you can select for his price that will come close to a triple-double but not quite get it; this means you are getting a player who can do everything. Young can rebound, assist, block, and steal, while most of the time, he will not put up any great scoring numbers, but his other stats more than makeup for his lack of scoring. Young does come off the bench, but his minutes have gone up in his last three outings. Young is averaging 25 pts in his previous three games, which is an easy selection for the Contest of the Week for his salary of $5,000 per game.
