NBA: 3 players to build your lineup around

3 Players to Build your lineup around

If you want to win BIG, here are three players you need in your OwnersBox Basketball Fantasy lineup that will bring you into the payout zone.

Cole Anthony, PG, Magic – $7,200 per game

During the 2020 NBA Draft, I was left dumbfounded when Cole Anthony slid all the way down to the 15th overall selection after being one of the highest touted players entering college. Anthony did have a lackluster season for UNC, but it was not just his fault, the entire team was an embarrassment, but Anthony took the brunt of the hate. This season it looks like Anthony is quieting the doubters and is having a phenomenal second year. Anthony has averaged 34 fantasy points in his last three games while becoming an elite scorer. Anthony averages over 20 points a game with 5 assists and 7 rebounds; he is not a big guard, but his rebounding has been fantastic. Anthony is outperforming his projections, and I see that continuing. For his price of $7,200 per game, Anthony is an easy selection, and you will not regret it.

Scottie Barnes, PF, Raptors – $7,500 per game

Rookie of the Year, let me hear it! Barnes has been nothing but fantastic in his rookie campaign. Coming from FSU, players are not ever statistically great but developed well on both ends of the floor, and Barnes is just that. This season, Barnes has yet to have a poor outing; even if he scores below double digits, he makes up for it on the defensive end, as we saw against the Nets. Having a player that produces on both ends in a big way is a must-have for fantasy. Barnes has averaged over 30 fantasy points in the last three games, and I do not see that fading. While he is confident and becoming an asset to the team, he should continue to develop. If Pascal comes back and Barnes’s minutes and productions drop, I would stay away, but it is clear that he is a must-own for now at his salary cap price.

Jarrett Allen, C, Cavaliers – $7,300 per game

While Evan Mobley looks to be the star people are watching on the Cavs, Jarrett Allen has become a very interesting player to have in your lineup. With the emergence of Mobley, some attention has gone away from Allen on the floor, allowing him to establish himself for fantasy. In his last four games, he has averaged over 40 fantasy points a game, which is monstrous by any player, and for his price of $7,300 per game, it is a steal. While Allen does not provide insane stats offensively, his defensive stats and rebounding will allow you to sit back and watch his point flow in your ‘Contest of the Week’ basketball lineup.
