- Read below for three running backs to target in NFL DFS contests
The NFL Week 6 is here and I’m going to give you some running backs to anchor your lineups. If you have been paying attention to fantasy numbers throughout the first few weeks, you would have noticed that we may be shifting away from the big point totals we’re used to running backs giving us and focusing on more receiver based builds, so finding two guys to anchor your lineups is very important. Here are 3 players to take in your OwnersBox NFL DFS lineups in Week 6.
These players will also be priority targets when playing the new Lightning Lineups game on OwnersBox. Lightning Lineups is a unique user-vs-house game where the player is presented with three lineups of three players each. If you don’t like the lineups presented to you, you can spin the wheel to generate new matchups. All you have to do is select the lineup you think will score the most fantasy points. You can increase your payout by adding more opponent lineups and earn up to 6x your money!
Off the bat I wanted to target two running backs going up against two of the three worst run defenses from DVOA, and those are the Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers.
Rhamondre Stevenson $5,600 @ Cleveland
Let’s get into this Cleveland Browns run defense. They have the last ranked rush defense DVOA at 20.5%. They are being run on, 43% of the time. They are giving up 5.7 yards/rush (30th), 138.2 rush yards/game (28th) and 1.6 rush TDs/ game (29). When we pair that with the possibility of Mac Jones being out another week and Damien Harris most likely not playing, Rhamondre Stevenson seems like a smash play.
The Browns’ defense:
-Ranks 32nd in rush defense DVOA
-Ranks 32nd in EPA/rush
-Ranks 31st in @PFF tackling grade
-Allowed 200+ rush yards in each of the last two gamesRhamondre Stevenson 📈📈📈

Last week he turned 25 carries into 161 yards as well as 2 receptions for 14 yards. Bill Belichick isn’t a dummy and will once again rely on the run game heavily. They already run the ball the 7th most in the league (50.17%) and average a rushing touchdown a game. Rhamondre should have no problems getting his touches, and we know that he is super effective as a runner. Take Rhamondre in your Week 6 lineups.
Breece Hall $5,300 @ Packers
Breece Hall was the talk of season long fantasy at the start of the year, with people worried about Michael Carter taking over his work load, but as the weeks have went on, he has started to take over. The past 2 weeks, Hall has 35 carries for 163 yards and 4 receptions for 112 yards. The Jets don’t run a ton, but they were throwing Joe Flacco 50 times a game to start the year, so that have skewed the stats.
.@nyjets rookie Breece Hall has more yards from scrimmage (488) than these notable RBs:
Leonard Fournette 474
Dalvin Cook 447
Joe Mixon 428
Ezekiel Elliott 332 pic.twitter.com/Qv7acjccbi— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) October 13, 2022
The Packers are being run on 48% of the time (30th) for 4.8 yards per rush and 126 rush yards/game and they rank 30th in Rush DVOA. This should be a juicy matchup for the Jets to exploit, as they would want to control the clock and keep the ball out of Aaron Rodgers hand.
Saquon Barkley vs Baltimore $6,400
Saquon should be the 2nd highest salaried running back every week behind Christian McCaffrey based on his upside. Old Saquon is back and killing defenses, and the Ravens aren’t a great rush defense. They are ranked 24th in Rush DVOA, but are getting run on the second least at only 32.83%. When opponents run the ball on the Ravens they are running it to 5.0 yards/rush (26th)

On the season, Barkley has put up 5.5 yards per rush on 97 attempts and 3 touchdowns while adding 18 receptions for 143 yards. He is a premiere back, and one who seems to be matchup proof thanks to his abilities. I am confidently paying up for Saquon in my Week 6 lineups.
