- Read below for three backs to target in NFL DFS contests
NFL Week 13 is here and I’m going to give you some running back options to anchor your lineups. For my builds at the running back position I like to look at defensive rush DVOA and project usage from the top end backs in good situations. Here are the 3 players to take in your OwnersBox week 13 NFL DFS lineups.
These players will also be priority targets when playing the new Lightning Lineups game on OwnersBox. Lightning Lineups is a unique user-vs-house game where the player is presented with three lineups of three players each. If you don’t like the lineups presented to you, you can spin the wheel to generate new matchups. All you have to do is select the lineup you think will score the most fantasy points. You can increase your payout by adding more opponent lineups and earn up to 6x your money!
Nick Chubb $6,400 @ Texans
A certain nasty man is finally back at quarterback for the Browns after a long time away from regular season NFL snaps. Even if Deshaun Watson isn’t able to have a great first game back, he can fall back on one of the best runners in the league, in Nick Chubb going up against the 3rd worst run defensive DVOA wise in his alma matter, the Houston Texans.
The #Browns are undefeated when Nick Chubb has 20+ rushing attempts.

Chubb is 4th in the league in carries, 5th in red zone touches, 3rd in rushing yards, 2nd most touchdowns and the 5th most fantasy points per game. It is pretty clear how the Browns can win football games this season, especially against this bad Texans defense. Chubb ranks 2nd in Juke Rate, 1st in Evaded tackles and has the most breakaway runs in the league. He is one of the best pure backs we have, as the receiving upside goes to Kareem Hunt but he gets the opportunities we need.
David Montgomery $5,900 vs Packers
Monty is in a nice spot against the Packers this weekend, as the Packers have the worst Rush DVOA in the league. The Bears are the best rushing team in the NFL. They rank first in Rush Play %, Yards/Rush, Rush Yards/Game and are 6th in Rush TDs/Game. Yes this was thanks to Justin Fields, but with his banged up shoulder, he may be fine to let Monty take most of the licks.
One thing is for sure, David Montgomery knows how to break tackles. pic.twitter.com/PyltYgHSts

Montgomery has some really good efficiency numbers, with some not so great on the surface counting stats. With only 10.8 fantasy points per game, Monty has been involved in the receiving games the past two weeks for 6 receptions and 80 yards. He has the 4th best catch rate, 3rd most yards per reception, and 5th most in evaded tackles. Monty has the skills to have a breakout game, and it could very well be this week.
Brian Robinson Jr. $5,200 @ Giants
Brian Robinson Jr. feels a lot like Najee Harris did last year, without all of his touchdowns. One of the more inefficient runners in the league getting as many touches as he is, the fact that they keep feeding him is reason enough for us to take a look at him in DFS. The Giants are 27th in rush defense DVOA so this is a plus running matchup for the Commanders.
Robinson’s expected fantasy points are over a point and a half better than his actual points, he’s 25th in carries after missing multiple weeks to start the season, and his juke rate and evaded tackles are close to that same number. If they feed Robinson and he gets in the endzone this could be a cheaper flex play for your lineups.
