Treylon Burks “Unavailable” at Tennessee Titans Minicamp
The Tennessee Titans wrapped up their three day minicamp on Thursday, June 16. These were the last team activities until training camp, which Mike Vrabel announced is set to open on July 26. But there was one very important player that was missing and has been for the majority of team activities. That is their first round pick and expected to be #1 wide receiver Treylon Burks.
Concern began to grow during rookie camp about Burks conditioning level and readiness for team off-season workouts. But Titans wide receiver coach Rob Moore revealed that the former Arkansas Razorback deals with asthma. Vrabel confirmed that the team knew about this condition before drafting him. But Vrabel did not explain why he was absent this past week.
Even with this recent news coming to light, Burks is one of the top-5 favorites to win offensive rookie of the year at Caesars Sportsbook. HIs odds of +800 only trail Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, Drake London and Kenny Pickett. There is an expectation that he’ll be playing a major role in the Tennessee offense in year 1.
Burks can certainly still have that big rookie season many expect from him. We saw Ja’Marr Chase deal with a very different issue, but still an issue, and have one of the best rookie seasons in recent memory. Chase had a case of the drops but was present and available to participate in practice.
You have to think that not being on the field with Ryan Tannehill and the first team offense is going to have an impact on his performance this season. There is a steep learning curve going from college to the NFL and there’s only so much you can do reading the playbook from the sidelines.

Burks played a pivotal role in leading the Arkansas Razorbacks offense in his junior season. He led the team with 1216 yards from scrimmage and 12 total touchdowns. Playing out wide, from the slot and even out of the backfield. His status will be interesting to montior when the team opens training camp for the 2022 NFL season.
