Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Outlook
The Steelers are off to a 1-1 start, but it could easily be 0-2. They snuck by the Bengals in Week 1, then lost to the Patriots in Week 2 by a score of 17-14. Their defense has been a bright spot, but their offense sucks out loud.
The Steelers offense, led by Mitch Trubisky, is averaging 255 yards of total offense per game. They own the 14th ranked offense, and the 18th ranked passing offense this season, according to PFF. Not only that, but they run the seventh fewest offensive players per game, which simply means they’re inefficient.

Their defense has been great, and have posted solid numbers. They have the fourth highest rated defensive grade on PFF, and their secondary have forced turnovers consistently. They have five interceptions and have allowed just three passing touchdowns in two games against QBs like Joe Burrow and Mac Jones.
The Steelers are 1-0-1 ATS and 2-0 to the under so far, meanwhile, Pittsburgh are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 against Cleveland. It’s always a shock to see Cleveland favored in the Steelers vs Browns odds.
Cleveland Browns Betting Outlook
This Browns offense has been an interesting one to gage. Both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt have been stellar, but they still manage a 1-1 record to start the season after a miraculous comeback win by the Jets in Week 2.
Jacoby Brissett has been good one game, and not so good the other. He managed a 48.1 PFF passing grade in Week 1 against the Panthers and a 79.1 PFF passing grade in Week 2 against the Jets. The Panthers were a much tougher matchup than the Jets, who have a bottom five coverage grade. I’m thinking Pittsburgh’s stout secondary will give them some trouble.
The Browns have had success running the ball, and without TJ Watt, I think they’ll continue to try and do that. With how much they run the ball, the Browns have the third most average time of possession on offense through two weeks. I think the Browns will use this to their advantage and have long drives running the ball to avoid throwing it to this secondary.
Steelers vs Browns Pick
With the line movement on the spread, I’m not looking at taking Cleveland or Pittsburgh to cover in the Steelers vs Browns odds.
There’s two ways I’m going to play this game. I’m going to take the Steelers team total under 16.5 at BetMGM and first quarter under 7.0 at DraftKings Sportsbook.
The Browns haven’t allowed a single point in the first quarter this year and allowed just 3.4 per first quarter last season. This Browns secondary and pass rush will cause Trubisky problems, and the eighth rated run defense should be able to take care of a hobbling Najee Harris.
Not to mention, six of the last seven Browns games on Thursday Night Football have gone under.
Picks: 1st Quarter Under 7.0 (-110) 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook, Steelers Team Total Under 16.5 (+100) 1 unit at BetMGM
