Betting Picks, Values & Fades
Pick: New York Mets (+700)
The Mets are playing good baseball despite not having their 3 best arms in the rotation. Pete Alonso has a serious case for NL MVP, and the woes of former Mets teams feel like it isn’t going to happen this year.
The way I like looking at it is when the Mets are healthy and firing on all cylinders, will their odds be up there close with the Dodgers? I believe so. I might wait for the Mets to struggle for a little bit here, but the updated MLB World Series odds still show value on them.
Pick: San Diego Padres (+1400)
How are the Padres doing this without Fernando Tatis Jr? That’s the exact reason to take a flyer on them at +1400. I believe this is an elite pitching staff which can help you win big games in October, but the return of the superstar SS in July could boost this team to the top of the NL.
Even with Tatis out of the lineup, they aren’t tapped out for star power. BetMGM Ontario has MacKenzie Gore as the favorite to win NL Rookie of the Year along with Joe Musgrove and Manny Machado near the top of the odds board for NL Cy Young and MVP respectively.
Value: Boston Red Sox (+4000)
A team that is in a playoff spot shouldn’t have odds this low. The Red Sox are at their lowest, roster wise, and hope to see Triston Casas up in the big leagues soon, as well as the returns of Chris Sale and James Paxton. A few of their solid AAA starters should be able to pair nicely with one of the more dangerous lineups in the league.
The Red Sox are a team that you just need to find their way into the playoffs for them to have the opportunity to do damage, and we saw that last year.
Value: Philadelphia Phillies (+3000)
Do NOT let the Philadelphia Phillies get hot. After firing Joe Girardi, the Phils have found a way to win baseball games. The team is in the middle of a 6 game winning streak with no stop in sight.

The fact that someone finally let Bryson Stott play everyday will be a nice boost to what should be one of the best lineups in baseball. With some backend of the bullpen help, the Phillies should be able to makeup some ground and find themselves in a playoff come the end of September.
Fade: Chicago White Sox (+2000)
The Chicago White Sox have struggled to put anything together, despite an extremely talented lineup. Eloy Jimenez is once again on the injured list, and the genius of Tony La Russa has dried up (to no surprise). At this point I believe a wager on these Chicago White Sox is a donation to whatever fine sportsbook you place your bets at. A team not even currently in a playoff spot but still being offered at odds as short as +2000 doesn’t make much sense.
