The Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros square off in Game 3 of the World Series with first pitch set for 8 PM EST on Tuesday November 1st at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, PA. The Phillies will start Ranger Suarez (1-0 1.86 ERA in 2022 playoffs) and the Astros will counter with Lance McCullers Jr (0-0 2.45 ERA in 2022 playoffs). The books list Houston as favorites in the Astros vs Phillies odds for both game 3 and the World Series price.
The Phillies are 10-3 so far this postseason, stealing Game 1 in Houston. Houston is 8-1 this postseason after taking Game 2 thanks to a Framber Valdez masterclass, and a big start. Game 3 was originally postponed Monday night due to rainy conditions, so the pitching rotations for the next 3 games will be McCullers vs Suarez, Javier vs Nola and Verlander vs Syndergaard barring any monumental changes.
Let’s take a look at the Astros vs Phillies odds for game 3 of the World Series.

Although Texas online sports betting is not yet legalized, the Astros partnered with BetMGM earlier this year. Signaling that some of the most respected sportsbook operators are preparing for an eventual launch. With no timeline for future date in sight, time will tell when Astros fans can start betting on baseball or their favorite team.
Astros Betting Outlook
The 8-1 Astros have a 2.18 team ERA, 4 quality starts, 1.00 WHIP .186 OBA and 111 SO in 91 IP. At the plate, they are slashing .231/.304/.417 with 15 Homeruns and a strikeout to walk rate of 79:27.
Something's gotta give…
The Phillies are undefeated at home in these playoffs, but not so fast: the Astros are 3-0 on the road.

Realistically, this Astros team should be up 2-0 in the World Series but that’s not how baseball works. The Astros have come out to back-to-back blazing starts to their games, only to be let down in the middle innings as they let their starters get deep. With another day off, this bullpen is set up for success, but who knows what they can realistically get from Lance McCullers Jr. tonight. If they can stop the early onslaught from the Phillies and their fans, they should be able to take a stranglehold of this series.
Phillies Betting Outlook
So far in the playoffs, the Phillies are slashing .233/.306/.423 and have 17 home runs, while striking out at under a 30% rate. On the mound, they have 6 quality starts out of their 13 games, sport an ERA of 3.29, a team WHIP of 1.03 and 125 SO in 115 innings.
Team of destiny is a term that gets thrown around in the world of sports a lot, but after that Game 1 comeback it seems that it could be very real for these Phillies. They need to win the games that Jose Alvarado and Seranthony Dominguez pitch in. Those are by far their best relievers and without them this backend looks a lot worse. Having the extra day off has set up this team to be in a much better spot on the mound, and are lead by one of the games best at the plate. In their first home World Series Game in over a decade, expect these Phillies to be ready to go in Game 3.

World Series Game 3 Pick
There’s a certain left handed hitter in Philadelphia who couldn’t be hotter this postseason, playing the biggest home game in a decade in front of the home fans. Bryce Harper has a wRC+ of 238, an OPS north of 1.200 and a wOBA of .514. In his career against McCullers, Bryce is 1-3 obviously a small sample size. Should the Phillies have a chance to win this game, it’ll be with a lot of help from Bryce Harper. I love this play and you can get it at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Pick: Bryce Harper Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (-110)
