Montreal versus Vegas in round 3 of the playoffs

Habs in 5, you heard it here first.

Let’s chat about last night’s huge win for the Habs because no one in the office is as happy as I am.

They had me scared for a second in game one, but they have certainly turned over a new leaf and I for one, can feel 3 more coming in the very near future. It’s for sure Habs in 5.

First of all, it has to be said… Carey Price. Amazing, as usual. This man is literally on fire, with a 3-0 lead, his brick wall-like goaltending kept the boys in it for the rest of the game.

However, the second period proved tough for Price with a few close calls, off the post from Pacioretty, and a last-second pull your groin style, save on Alec Martinez. We love a flexible king.

Pietrangelo snuck one by Price to finish the second, but I must say it was not his fault, the puck was shot from the point through 3 vegas players and off the shin of Habs defenseman, Chiarot.

I mean, sometimes Price stops the pucks he can’t see because he’s just THAT good, but we gotta cut him some slack every once and a while, nobody’s perfect.

Anyway, the Habs was able to defend on Vegas throughout the third period until Pietrangelo put another one past Carey glove side. Huge thumbs down.

Petry from the habs with his blood shot eyes, habs in 5

Live footage of Petry taking his teams colour’s too seriously.

On a happier note, Jeff Petry was finally back this game sporting bloodshot eyes and a four-fingered glove, an after-effect of his incident in game 3 against Winnipeg. After losing 5-1 in game one it is easy to see just how crucial he is to the defense of the team, helping the Habs take that overwhelming 5 down to a silly old 2, this game.

The habs managed to walk away from this game with a 3-2 victory, and Price with a new all-time best win total in the playoffs, 9.

I’m sure Montreal will be coming in hot next game because even though they won, they almost blew a 3-0 lead. It’s just like my old coach used to say, “3-0 is the worst lead in hockey”. It’s just precarious, they get one, you get scared, they get another because you’re scared and then next thing you know it’s all tied up and your lead is toast.
