3 Bang for Your Buck Players
This article is all about players who will perform or potentially outperform their salary price.
QB – Kirk Cousins, $6,600 vs. 49ers
In a season where nobody has any idea which teams are great and which players will perform, Kirk Cousins has been one of the few to stay consistently solid. Cousins has averaged 27 fantasy points in the last two weeks, and those three matchups were very challenging. The Packers, Chargers, and the Ravens are all known as good teams, and somehow, Kirk was able to perform very well. One of the most shocking stats is that Cousins only has two interceptions all season, and those were against bad to average teams. Cousins has shown us that he is real, and we still want to believe that he is average or bad. This week Cousin’s is going against the 49ers defense, who has struggled against the pass. Cousins is not the most exciting play, but he has the best duo debatably in the league as his receiving option. Jefferson has established himself as a potential top-five receiver, and Thielen continues to be overlooked and forgotten while he still dominates defenses in a big way.
WR – DJ Moore, $5,800 vs. Dolphins
DJ Moore has become a horrible option in fantasy with the dramatic decline in Sam Darnold’s poor play, but with Cam Newton back, Moore has looked like a decent option with a high upside. Though Moore has been receiving around seven targets a game, Darnold could not put the ball anywhere near a catchable pass compared to throws Newton has done on a more motivated team with him back behind center. This week Moore faces a struggling Dolphins defense. The Dolphins are one of the worst teams against the pass; it is shocking because they have Xavien Howard, but no one on the Dolphins defense has looked good this season.
RB – Devonta Freeman, $4,900 vs. Browns
Devonta Freeman’s production has come as a surprise to everyone. Last week, Freeman looked very good, even with Jackson out. Freeman had 16 carries for 49 yards and a touchdown, but it was his 6 receptions that were a shock to fantasy players. I do not expect Freeman to have near 6 receptions this week, but 3-5 could be realistic. Freeman is not a great player, but you can build a stacked team at his salary price of $4,900. Freeman provides a decent base for a low-priced running back, he will not have a huge game, but I would take around 15 fantasy points from him any day for his salary price.
