2 Wide Receivers You Need – Championship Sunday
Championship Weekend of the NFL season is here! If you are looking to get in on some action this week, make sure to check out the contests on OwnersBox.
This article will highlight 2 wide receivers you need in your OwnersBox/DFS contests this weekend. Let’s dive in!
Pick #1: Brandon Aiyuk @ Los Angeles Rams (OwnersBox Salary: $5,800):
Brandon Aiyuk is a player who has turned it on late in the season. After disappointing fantasy managers for the first half of the season, Aiyuk has started to perform like the player we expect him to be. This week, he has a solid matchup against the Rams, who rank 24th in the NFL against the pass (allow 264 pass yards per game). In the last 12 weeks of the season (including playoffs), Aiyuk has had over 50 receiving yards in 8 games. These numbers support the thesis that Aiyuk is on an upward trend in this 49ers offense.
For Aiyuk to maximize his output this weekend, he will need to be effective after the catch, a category in which he ranks top-20 in the league amongst receivers. While Aiyuk did nothing against the Packers last week, he had produced at least 11+ fantasy points in four straight games before that game. In one of those games, against the Rams, he scored 17 fantasy points. With the thin player pool this week, Aiyuk is a great value play for $5,800. Look for him to bounce back from last week’s goose egg.
Pick #2: Odell Beckham Jr. vs. San Francisco 49ers (OwnersBox Salary: $6,100):
It is impossible to deny what Odell Beckham Jr. has been able to do since joining the Rams. He has solidified himself as the number two target on the team, right behind Cooper Kupp. Last week, Beckham Jr. saw eight targets against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This week, the Rams face a 49ers team ranked second in DVOA this season. One key metric for fantasy managers this week is that Beckham Jr. has found the endzone 6 times in his last 9 games. While he is yet to pass the century mark in receiving yards with the Rams, Odell has been a trustworthy option for this offense when they need to find the endzone.
Considering the year Cooper Kupp has had, he will demand extreme attention from the 49ers defense. I firmly believe that the Rams will look to get Odell involved in the short/intermediate passing game this weekend. On the first drive of the game last week, the Packers exposed the 49ers on the short/intermediate pass game and then, for some reason, never went back to it. I think the Rams will follow suit this week, which will result in more targets for Odell. At $6,100, I believe Odell is almost undervalued. I could see him being a top-5 wide receiver this weekend.
