3 Arms For Your Friday Fastball Lineups 4/29
Honestly, a pretty ugly slate from the pitchers side of things. So identifying a few key pitchers for the OwnersBox Friday Fastball contest could be the difference. Here are three arms I have keyed in on and want to target for Friday night’s DFS action.
Ian Anderson @ Texas ($6,400)
Anderson heads into Globe Life sporting a 1-1 record and a 5.40 ERA, but that doesn’t tell the whole story, his xBAA is only .218 and his xERA is a full two runs lower, at 3.40. Facing off against a Rangers team who are ranked 27th in average against RHP, 29th in OPS against RHP and have the 3rd worst wRC+. This is a good spot for you to plug Ian Anderson, although the Rangers don’t strikeout or walk much, if we can get Anderson efficiently through 7 Innings with a lead and 6 K’s we will be rewarded.
Nestor Cortes @ Kansas City ($6,400)
Nasty Nestor has been nothing short of spectacular to start the season for the Yankees. A 1.15 ERA, 0.64 WHIP and 25 SO in only 15.2 Innings prove that he belongs in the Yankees rotation, and should be a solid play in today’s lineups.
The Kansas City Royals rank 29th in OPS against LHP, 28th in OPS against LHP, and have the third worst average against LHP. All of this, paired with Kris Bubic and his 14.14 ERA pitching for the Royals, should put the Yankees in a good spot to win and Nestor Cortes racking up a solid amount of fantasy points.
Alex Wood vs Washington ($6,500)
The counting stats look good to start the season for Alex Wood, 2-0 with a 2.51 ERA. Although his underlying stats aren’t terrific, the Nationals have really struggled against left handed pitching and that is why I think this can be a good matchup. They rank 27th overall in wRC+ against LHP and 24th in OPS against LHP. Probably the third pitcher I want to throw in my lineups from this article, but I don’t think 6+ innings and win are out of the question for Alex Wood today
